We started playing the English version on dolphin and have reached chapter 4, but when we reach the doll puzzle we are not able to complete it because the timer runs too quickly. Each second is about half a second. We've tried restarting the chapter and trying the puzzle over again with the same result. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so, what was your workaround?

It depends on the difficulty... if nightmare mode the time runs more quicker.

I found that using LLE and setting framelimit to audio can cause an occasional glitch where the framerate suddenly doubles as the game is going into or coming out of a cutscene and everything runs at 2x normal speed... maybe something similar is happening to you with the doll puzzle? If so, setting framelimit to 30 temporarily might solve the problem.

set the framerate to 10 so this will make it a lot easier

It's doable but not perfect, since the game won't boot with the sound effect folder from the JP disc. I followed cloud101090's lead and just replaced the adpcm and movie folders. This will give you the original Japanese voices in all cutscenes. Apparently some of the in-game voice files are in the se folder and some are in the adpcm folder-- a fair amount of ghost dialogue is in Japanese but you still hear some of the English dub (for example Mayu says "Wait!" in English when you get too far ahead of her).
