So I have been studying laptops to get and eventually decided on the Vaio VGN-FW455D, which has a T6600 processor. Running games doesn't give me a great speed (about 20FPS on Wind Waker, slower on Wii games). When I went to the store to pick this laptop up, I noticed another one - same specs, but a smaller screen and better processor. But I was wondering how much better it is, and if it would be worth it to exchange this one for the other one. The other one has a 2.60 GHz AMD Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor M640. It the HP dv6-2064CA if anybody is wondering.

I'm not entirely sure, especially when it comes to laptop processors and AMD vs Intel performance with Dolphin. Comparing the two, I would probably swap the laptop for the one with the AMD processor, if you want that extra speed. I wouldn't expect a dramatic increase in speed, maybe only 5FPS. Also, Dolphin's speed also depends on your graphics card...

but not enough to make you worry because as long as it's not integrated your fine

The graphics card is the same as my current one, which can run Crysis on high, and very high if you overclock it, so I'd say I'm good there ;P Anyone else have any knowledge in this area?

So it seems that your processor is the bottleneck if your laptop's graphics card can handle Crysis on High. I guess you should swap laptops for better performance, but I don't know how much you'll get. I mean, my PC has a quad clocked at 3GHz with what sounds like a similar graphics card and it can run Cube games 60fps, and Dolphin is only optimized to use two cores of the processor. Well, I would advise getting the other laptop, but good luck with this

you can't compare just clock speed. Clock for clock, the intel is faster, while amd one is clocked higher, so they're pretty similar in the end.
