Hi all,
I tried for the first time dolphin. I can run it only under linux and so I compiled it from svn without problems. The emulator starts fine and I set graphical options at minimum and the dual core setting. Then I tried to run Skies of Arcadia Legend, european version. The game works really bad with many texture problems and really slow but I think it's a problem of my particular compiled version. Here the problems:

1) first of all I get the error 'E[Video]: error loading tex' many time per second and this is really strange. In this forum no one have that error. The result of this error is that I can't see polygon's on the window. In the main screen I cann see only the sky back the menu but not the menu.
2) second the emulator crash with errors like
''Dolphin: xcb_io.c:242: process_responses: Asserzione `(((long) (dpy->last_request_read) - (long) (dpy->request)) <= 0)' fallita.
zsh: abort"
3) The worst thing is
"Dolphin: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.1.
N[BOOT]: Saving Settings to ./User/Config/Dolphin.ini
zsh: segmentation fault ./Dolphin"
4) If I set for the sound alsa instead of asound the game crash with segmentation fault.

Anyone know how to fix those problems. My computer has an intel core 2 duo 2.20Ghz, 2 Gb of RAM ddr2 and a Nvidia GeForce 8600m GT as GPU with drivers 185.18.36. I'm using archlinux.

Another thing: is my computer powerfull enough to run Skies of Arcadia on dolphin? Or I'm wasting my time?

Thanks for this wonderfull emulator,
Rief

Why don't you try downloading a compiled version? Did you check if the fame is compatible?

There is a compiled version for linux? In the download section of the Dolphin homepage I didn't find it.

Do you mean the game? Yes, Skies of Arcadia is compatible but in the official list is mark as "in game".

Thanks for reply,

Nothing change Sad. Today I tried the MaXiMu unoffial build for linux and the graphical output error "error loading tex" never occur again. But the other problems remain. And another problem has appeard:

"08:31:227 N[OSREPORT]: (PC=81200500) OSReport: Apploader Initialized. $Revision: 31 $.
08:31:227 N[OSREPORT]: (PC=8120051c) OSReport: This Apploader built Sep 5 2002 05:58:53
08:32:257 N[Video]: GLWin Depth 24
08:32:257 N[Video]: detected direct rendering
Failed to create vertex shader"

The ingame status, determines that might be a problem while playing the game.

Did you try opengl, and directx plugins? (opengl is default)

Try too, using an older version of the svn.

that sure is a dolphin->driver->graphics card issue. now the question remains; who's causing it?

Or maybe it's a problem of my graphic card under linux...you know, drivers under linux aren't the state of art. But I usually use videogames for windows via wine such as Sudeki, Call of Duty 4, Arx Fatalis and many others. No one tried this emulator with my graphic (geforse 8600m GT) card under Windows?

Zero_g I don't want to seem ingrateful for your help, i'm really thankful but maybe you don't understand what it means that I'm using linux. I can't use DirectX, those libraries are Microsoft.

Hi !

I'm also having the "Failed to create vertex shader" error under linux.
It must be related to the nvidia linux drivers since i don't have this error with the same opengl plugin version with the same settings under windows.

My spec : nvidia geforce 9600 gt with 185.18.31 drivers

tried with dolphin svn self build and MaXiMu unoffial build and got the same result.

Have you try to run it with Wine ? (who know ? ^^')

Damn the day when i bought this computer with a nvidia card. The funny thing is that the computer before this had a nvidia 6600 GT that run perfectly.

Yea, but under wine (performance apart) the emulator didn't find plugins so...

Thanks,
Rief
