Hello people!
Long ago I made a post about not being able to connect Dolphin with the Tingle Tuner on the GBA, and later I found a solution and everything was fine. So after a while I stopped playing and decided to do other things. I have started playing again recently but then I ran into a problem. Dolphin does not recognize a connected GBA anymore. I use Dolphin 5.0 and VisualBoyAdvance-M-WX-2.0.0-beta2. Even though it worked fine before now dolphin doesn't even connect with VBA anymore. It simply says there is no GBA connected to any of the ports even though the configurations are all done.
When I open VBA it says "JoyBus host invalid; disabling" and when I try to connect manually using the "Start network link" option it says "LAN link is already active. Disable link mode to disconnect"
I'm not really too knowledgeable on these JoyBus things... all I know is that it worked before but now it doesn't. So I came to ask for help  Smile
Thank you all in advance.

Exact Same problem. Pokemon Colosseum does not connect. Just want to add something, I cannot dump my own bios file due to not owning or being able to purchase an Action Replay Max... the Action Replay Maxes are all gone and purchased from the internet... except for the Datel, which I don't believe supports bios dumping.

Please provide a way that we can do this WITHOUT the Bios, when you have time.

I believe I have a matching bios, though. If someone with bios knowledge can check my bios files and compare, that would be great. However, following TOS, I will not upload the bios files publically.

If they indeed are matching, then it's all operator's error, and thus, I did something wrong.

EDIT: I got to the Colosseum screen, but it said there is no save file, but there is?

If you have any sort of GBA flashcart, you can dump the BIOS quite easily. Everdrives are kind of expensive, and I prefer the EZ-Flash 5, but both will do the job. You can dump the GBA BIOS using any GBA model, and any NDS capable of running GBA games.

This would be a job for people involved with or very familiar with GBA emulation (there may or may not be some overlap with the Dolphin development team). Emulators like VBA-M need the BIOS for some functions that aren't High-Level Emulated at all or accurately enough.

You'll have to go bother the GBA emulator devs about the bios thing.

Dolphin no longer needs LLE Audio dumps and everything works in HLE audio... so... it's all on the GBA side requiring BIOS.

Well I'm both glad and somewhat disappointed to see I'm not the only one having problems. In my case, however, the GBA BIOS is not the.. er... thing causing the problems. I got the BIOS from a friend, who dumped it from an actual GBA, and it used to work completely fine before.
The problem could be coming from the VBA-M emulator, but I tried other versions and they didn't work either.
I even checked firewall to see if it was blocking any connections but, so far, I've had no luck with it.

Well, yeah, I guess the problem comes from the BIOS from the VBA-M emulator. It seems that the old and new dolphins are not in sync anymore with VBA-M emulator. I've noticed on a video that a guy was able to connect to Legend of Zelda with his VBA emulator, but nothing on Pokemon Colosseum/XD, which in fact, someone requested, but he never got around to it. In total, he uploaded 1 video in 2013 or something, and that's all. I think he may have moved on...

I have been able to get Dolphin to recognize that there is a connection, but it either fails to completely connect, or says there is no game save. This is actually a problem with the emulator, which points to the cartridge game's path, but does not pick up any saves, especially if you load a game state and try saving and playing from there (It forgets that you had saved).

Not sure how to remedy the problem.

By the way, does an Action Replay from datel work with an Action Replay Max disc? I just bought the datel version of Action Replay (cartridge holder) with the disc of Action replay, and would like to know if I can add codes with it? It's for the gamecube version... If not, I may just sell the datel cartridge, and keep searching for an Action Replay Max cartridge holder.

Correction, I was not able to get the super rare Action replay Max for Gameboy advanced... someone outbid my automatic bids, from 32 to $62, and both were Action Replay MAX devices. What can I do now? It's not like I can go back and bid more... is there anywhere else I can find one?
