Hi I've tried playing zelda wind waker on latest version of dolphin and it doesn't seem to run, just gets past the nintendo logo screen then nothing, I've tried a few setting like enable dual core, any help to get it working would be great.
Problems with galaxy s7 exynos android 7.0

AFAIK this is a GPU driver bug in the Mali driver. Feel free to use the software video backend instead.
Hint: No desktop CPU is fast enough to run our software render fullspeed..... 04-21-2017, 02:25 AM
Not sure what you mean, is there an option I need to change or optional software to install.

Thanks, I'll give it a go later, I've seen a video on YouTube with the game running smoothly is that fake.

So I will have to wait for samsung to update the Mali drivers, or are there any settings I can tinker with, thanks for the help so far.

You can try adjusting the "cpu over/underclock" setting to help improve the gameplay speed. I find setting it below 50 percent helps a lot. 05-18-2017, 07:12 PM

I've already tried everything to get it working, I've tried paper mario and it runs slowly but better than wind waker, but there's allot of graphical issues with that, is there any news on a fix with the s7 exynos, I've just had an update installed from samsung, not sure what it updates. Mali GPU will be always bottlenecked until ARM will implement buffer_storage feature to their GL driver. Will they? I don't think so, it was raised 3 years ago by me though they're clearly not interested (it wasn't raised by their partners). Vulkan backend should work in theory but again driver is broken, no one has debugged dolphin to track the bug hence no one filed bug report, and ARM would need an example to even look at the report (you can't just say "dolphin doesn't work", you need to point them to an exact bug), you need to push them really hard, they're lazy. We don't know if their GL drivers lags so bad due to just buffer_storage not supported or because their shader sampling bug kills performance and no one knows if their Vulkan driver will be fixed and when. Adreno was like that before, someone was sending them lots of reports and examples and requested things, one day Qualcomm just implemented buffer_storage and base_vertex and fixed their GL bugs (Vulkan is broken) |
