MaLDo the bug if that exists in frame limmiter is fixed with VSYNC, confirmed with other people. Id like to help you. What is the problem do you suffer? give me one example?
Problems with dolphin framerate (looking for full smooth)

The judder in most games are not apparent unless you move the scene around (2D games, games with camera control and moving scenes). It's less obvious in Mario Galaxy games, but completely obvious in Zelda games/Donkey Kong/Paper Mario. The scene hitches causing small, obvious judders and this is with/without vsync changing around frame limiters from auto to audio. Turning off Windows Aero helps a bit, but the overall smoothness is still not there. I'm running full speed when these happen and it's something that happens no matter what you're doing as long as the scene is moving. It's definitely an issue and I realize Dolphin is always going to be a work in progress, but it can be frustrating to see people say things like "it's your hardware" or "you're not using the right settings". This is definitely a unique judder to Dolphin alone and I never see this with any other emulators (BSNES, PCSX2). With that said, I'm still overjoyed I had the chance to play Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 with a decent IQ as well as Skyward Sword. The hitching was a bit annoying, but still a lot better than the alternative 480p without any AA. I just hope this is something that gets fixed sometime. 07-11-2014, 07:31 AM
Wait for the Exclusive Fullscreen merge for D3D before giving up. I noticed a serious "frame drop" in MegaMan X collection despite the games running at 60 fps, and that makes it super smooth. It affects other games too; but that one is actually presents a gameplay/graphical issue.

I've messed one full hour with settings and versions and I finally found the culprit. Prepare to be surprised. Fucking 'hide mouse cursor' option. Yes, this is one of the first checkbox I check for every new version and I could never have imagined it was related to the framerate inconsistency. Something is working in the dolphin background hidding the cursor in some kind of infinite loop. I guess if it's checking every one or two seconds for cursor state and producing hitches in the framerate. My current config for Kirby's RTDL in dolphin is dolphin nvidia profile: SLI disabled, force vsync ON, max prerendered frames 1 dolphin settings: Double core on Avoid inactive frames on Framerate limiter Automatic CPU emulator JIT No messages in ui DSP HLE Audio LLE thread off Audio buffer off XAudio2 Direct3D Vsync off Fullscreen on (exclusive mode) Show FPS off Autosize off Hide mouse cursor OFF!!! Log render off keep window on top off Render to main window off Every other option as default and logs disabled 4x resolution and Rivatuner SS limiting framerate (60 fps) Perfect smooth this way. Activating 'hide cursor' option produces hitches. EDIT: Ok, was fine for a while. After windows restart, the problem is back. Framerate is not smooth again. |
