Question
Hello! I'm new to the forum, hope I'm posting in the right section and you guys can help me.

As the title says, I'm having problems using DSP LLE. My problem is: no matter what game I play using DSP LLE, the game just stays WAY below previous performances using DSP HLE. Yes, I know it's expected that DSP LLE slows down emulation a little bit, but I don't think it's the usual slowdown in my case. I've already watched videos on YouTube where other people play with no problems the same games I'm trying to play, and our specs usually aren't that different.

I'm trying really hard to play Super Mario Galaxy, for example, but just can't when using DSP LLE. When I'm using DSP HLE the game runs perfect. I can even increase some graphics improvements like 2x Native, Anti-Aliasing 4x and Anisotropic Filtering 4x. Even then, I can run Super Mario Galaxy mostly between 50~60FPS and 80~100% Speed. But when I turn on DSP LLE, the game stays below 30FPS and 50% speed, even with no graphics improvements at all. It's just unplayable.

I don't think my specs are the problem. I've the same issue even when trying to play GameCube games. I tried StarFox Adventures without DSP LLE and all was fine. Even with improved graphics, it stays on a perfect 60FPS and 100% speed the entire time. Then I try activating DSP LLE and it's Super Mario Galaxy all over again. FPS below 30 and speed below 50%.

What can I do to solve this?

EDIT: Sorry, forget to post my specs.

Intel i5-2500 3.30GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5700
4GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate (x86)
Dolphin 3.5

Turn those off.

16x AF is not demanding, every GPU is able to handle this. Leave it activated.

Actually they are. Your CPU at stock can't handle SMG + LLE "properly". Same thing for other demanding games such as Starfox Adventures

Turn those off.

Already did. As I said before, "the game stays below 30FPS and 50% speed, even with no graphics improvements at all." All graphics improvements are at minimum.

Meh. You sure? I find it weird, because with DSP HLE I can use basically "full" graphics improvements and with DSP LLE even the lowest graphics makes my game slowmotion.

But if you say so, I believe. :\ That's just sad for me.

Well you can't basically expect the same performance with HLE and LLE. An overclocked CPU could. Yours can't.

Try to check "LLE on Thread". It will help you. But this option may cause freezes in some games though and unfortunately SMG is one of them

Already tried that. It didn't make much of a difference. Thanks anyway.

Oh, I see. Too bad for me, I guess. :\

Well, I think that's about it. My question is answered and it seems there's nothing I can do about it. Thanks for all your answers, anyway.
