problems getting icontroler on iphone 3gs to work with wii sports

Hello I have a dell latitude e6420 laptop with blueooth support and I think ir sensor support. I am running in to 2 problems with the icontroler running on iphone 3gs. the controler when moving the pointer it doesn't barely move, the other problem is the game isn't loading in the backround. the game is wii sports bowling. am I missing anything or need to configure anything special to play the wii sports games with icontroler on iphone 3gs? thanks Hank
