I'm having trouble with some of the motion-sensing parts of the game. When both using the Beetle and swimming, you can only occasionally move correctly, and most of the time you tilt violently from left to right with the slightest movement of the Wiimote - could this be a problem with the remote itself, or with configuration/calibration? It's very strange, it's like there's a loose connection and the motion controls are registering full left tilt when it's only slightly left, and vice versa. Sometimes it works fine, and you can fly/swim with no problem. It's also not a problem affecting the Loftwing, which is kinda weird, I assumed they'd use the same sensors.

This is actually a non- -TR remote - I bought it from eBay and it turns out it doesn't have the -TR extension despite being a Wii Remote Plus. Yes, it's an official controller. Dolphin 4.0 1342. Using a Hama bluetooth adapter and the Toshiba stack 9.10.15(T).

Try it on your wii and see if it works fine. If it does, then it's a Dolphin problem. If the problem occurs on the wii too, it's your wiimote.

It does work fine on the Wii. It looks like it's the Motion+ calibration desyncing, and it looks like it happens when the game lags Sad Which it does a bit, and at some really inopportune times when you require precise Beetle/swim controls - you can fix the problem by recalibrating and then not shaking the Wiimote until after you've done the puzzle but obviously that means no sword. Link starts holding his sword at weird angles if the game lags even slightly, which can be annoying in boss and miniboss fights.

So, any options I can tick for better performance? Even at the cost of graphics? Skip EFB access from CPU seemed to work a bit, but not enough.

Just to make sure, are you using a sensor bar when playing in Dolphin? You said Link hold his sword at weird angles and I reproduced that behaviour in the past when trying to play without a sensor bar...

If you don't have the money for a real sensor bar, purchase 4-6 IR LEDs a USB cable and something to install them on.
You'll also need some resistors and basic voltage calculations.

I did this and it looks cool and works perfectly fine (even with Skyward Sword).
Cost: ~5-7$

Yes, I have a sensor bar, but I didn't think Skyward Sword used it, apart from calibration - I may be too close to the screen to get it to do anything, so next time it goes funny I'll try using it. Found a workaround, which is apparently mentioned once - try swinging the sword overhead a bunch of times, and Link will return his sword position to normal. Also I changed around some settings (changed it to using D3D and my graphics card :p) and tried a bunch of options. Skip EFB Access from CPU seemed to work, until I tried using the slingshot (bow, etc) and it doesn't fire at the crosshair any more, which was somewhat unplayable o_O So I've got it to a playable state now, where I'm happy with just swinging the sword overhead a bit if it's off, and you can just turn around a little bit and have the Wiimote pointing in a slightly different direction horizontally (yaw left a bit, generally).
