Problem with Ubuntu

Hi,

I have been using Dolphin for years and normally have had no issues. Recently, I changed to Linux Mint and was able to install Dolphin through the commands on the downloads page and had the most up to date version. However, I swapped to Ubuntu a couple of days ago and tried getting Dolphin but it's only the 5.0 version.

Even worse, it keeps saying that the repository doesn't have a release file and won't update anything. I've tried multiple things to change this but nothing's worked. All I want is the latest development build to play games on.

(Why does none of my screenshots work? I've tried uploading an attachment and using Google Drive)

Looks like the dolphin-emu PPA doesn't yet have a release for disco (Ubuntu 19.04): https://launchpad.net/~dolphin-emu/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

The Dolphin team (or whoever maintains that PPA) would need to add binaries for disco to it.

Oh ok, well hopefully they do that soon. Smile

to clarify, that's an unofficial (but trustworthy enough) PPA. We can't do anything about it

Is there an official PPA then? I checked their website and it only says Ubuntu 18.04 and lower versions, not 19.04.

Nope. We don't publish Linux packages right now. Easier on us not having to strictly leash ourselves to whatever libs and compilers arbitrary distro+version has in repos.

You might be interested in this unofficial PPA: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-dolphin-nightly-builds-for-cosmic-disco-eoan

That contains binaries for cosmic, disco and even for the to-be-released eoan.
