Hi all,

when i'm trying to take a photo in the legend of zelda: the wind waker (PAL)with the photo box the game crashes.

Furthermore the FPS drop to ~15 when i want to set the internal resolution to 3x native and AA to 9xSSAA. Is my system too weak?

revision:7588
settings:default, (internal resolution Auto (window size), 4xSSAA, 16AF)
OS:vista 64-bit
hardware:intel core duo E8500 @ 3,16GHz, Nvidia GeForce 260gtx

No system is strong enough for 9x SSAA and 3x EFB scale/internal resolution or 9x SSAA and Integral scaling/internal resolution. 4x SSAA and 2x or 1x scaling would be less intensive, however it's best to leave SSAA disabled and us Integral scaling/internal resolution.

In regards to taking the photo, did you enable Copy EFB to Ram? The pictograph requires Copy EFB to Ram and may also need Accurate Texture cache.

You're wrong, my GTX580 handles it...

Not without nearly reducing the fps by half or a quarter it doesn't, reports on the forum from others with the same card confirms that. My GTX 460's can "handle it", but I also lose nearly a quarter or half my fps. Try with LoZ: TP or SMG/SMG2, there's a bigger hit in those games. There may not be as big of a hit with NSMB and some other 2D or light 3D games, but it's still a hit on performance nonetheless.

Btw, when I went from a 9800 GT to a GTX 460 it offered literally no improvement with 9x SSAA and 3x or Integral/Fractional EFB scaling. 9x SSAA or 3x/Integral/Fractional EFB scaling alone individually is possible with a GTX 460 and above, but not with both enabled at the same time without incurring a hefty penalty on performance.

Hm, most of my videos were recorded with SSAA 9x, but Super Mario Galaxy...

works with copy EFB to RAM enabled, but still freezes for ~3 seconds when taking the photo

I wasn't referring to just SSAA, I was referring to using both 9x SSAA and 3x/Integral/Fractional scaling at the same time. EFB scaling has a new name as do Integral and Fractional scaling in recent revisions, but what I said stands.

@ferox, yeah that happens according to some reports, it might depend on specifications, I'm not sure if a more powerful PC would experience this.

In order to get the pictobox working you need to have efb to ram enabled. You also might need to have cpu efb access on and efb cache off, not sure about those two.
