Also, it may be shaders compiling in the background. Mario Kart Wii has some massive ones. You can turn on precompile shaders if you don't want them to compile while teh game is running.
I get that, but why is it only lagging at the start? At the start, I only get less than 10fps which is very slow and then at the mode selection it is quite fast at around 30 to 40 fps and racing takes it to less than 30fps, which is fine for me because I know I have a slow computer. But why does it have to lag so much at the start?
I tried to do precompile shaders, but that seems to kick Dolphin and make it not respond.
