I am not a very experienced emulator user and need help with a problem.

I have been playing FE Path of Radiance using dolphin for a little while just using the keyboard on my computer and it was working great (on 5.0). I ordered a wii-u gamecube usb adapter so that I could play the game how it was supposed to be played. Finally got it but after I set it up and attempted to play the game, the audio and video became slowed and choppy making the game unplayable. I tried to find solutions to the problem but have had no luck. Found a post of someone having a similar problem years ago and it was fixed by installing and running the game on an older version of Dolphin. I tried the same version and there was no difference in the problem. When I installed the adapter the only difference I had to the tutorial was that when plugging in both usb connections there wasn't an automatic or noticeable download of the adapter's driver. I (probably shouldn't have) continued on with the tutorial using Zadig and clicked the "replace driver" button. My confusion is that when I ran the game the controller totally worked when interacting with the game though Dolphin but the game then had the audio and video problem. I am assuming that if there wasn't a driver automatically installed then the adapter would not have been funtional.

Please help me figure out how to get back to playing this amazing game.

Thanks

I'm going to assume you are playing on the laptop on your profile so:
1. Make sure that you are on the latest development version of Dolphin.
2. Make sure you're plugged in to the wall power outlet
3. Make sure your windows power options are set to High performance
4. Make sure your laptop isn't overheating/throttling
5. Make sure that your video drivers are up to date and that you are using the high performance one (if nVidia Optimus or the AMD equivalent)

IIRC there IS an issue with the passthrough drivers right now that could make games a bit slower, but first make sure you're not hitting the performance wall of your laptop.
Check my profile for up to date specs.
