Disabling Aero improves the overall emulation speed noticeably, especially if your PC is bottlenecked by the GPU or if you're running the emulator in fullscreen mode at a very high resolution.

But there is a problem with Dolphin:

- It's not possible to disable Windows 7 compositing (Aero) just for the Dolphin executable in the file properties like with every other executable (all options are greyed out Sad)

- Also, there's no setting in Dolphin's frontend/UI to auto-disable Windows 7 Aero (compositing) temporarily when a game is launched.

Is there any solution to this problem other than disabling Aero completely (globally)?

It doesn't work with the 64-bit builds.

rightclick to dolphin.exe, then properties, in the navigator at the top you click on compatibility and there you can disable windows 7 aero for that application only....

It's a Windows 7 bug. All 64-bit applications have this problem - the compatibility options are greyed out.

To work around this issue, a 'disable Aero / compositing' option is necessary (as seen in Media Player Classic - Home Cinema)
