But somehow i cant play grand prixes in 2 player mode any more...

I suggest you disable your GameCube controllers if you intend to use wii remotes in Mario kart.

Again.. Just use your original settings but disable the GameCube controllers.

Just disable GameCube Controllers when you're using Wii Remotes!
