Looks like a video driver issue. Does your phone have an Exynos or Mediatek processor? Those processor use Mali gpus which have video driver issues that cause problems with higher-end emulators.

Just as I thought. The Mali gpu in your phone has driver bugs that can graphical bugs like one you see in Mario Galaxy. You can try the Vulkan graphics backend instead. That may fix the graphics bug.
