Problem Mariokart

Hello, i want to play mariokart wii but when a race starts i cant use my keyboard to stear, the a button doesn't accelerate, etc. So my question is how kan I use my keyboard for the game and where can i chose which keyboard button is the same as the button for the game (like with the gc pad). I hope someone can help me and that I've explaned my problem clearly, because my english isn't so good.

Try the numpad keys
8 for up
2 for down
4 for left
6 for right.
