Hi guys! I want to transfer the Pokemon Jirachi from Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disk to my Pokemon Ruby. I tried to connect Dolphin with the GBA-M emulator but when they connect the GBA-M runs very slowly (6%) and because of that it loses the connection with Dolphin and Jirachi cannot be transfered.

I guess it has something to do with the options (idk if it is Dolphin's or VBA-M's options). Can you tell me what to do to make GBA-M run at full speed when it is connected with Dolhpin?

If there is anyone that had the same problem with me and got it fixed please tell me how you fixed it!!

Thanks!

A powerful CPU is needed to use this stuff. Yours is probably not enough.

IIRC, only two games really work with the GBA-GCN connection functionality in Dolphin (LoZ:FSA and Final Fantasy:Crystal Chronicles). The Pokemon games all had issues during transfer, so it's unlikely that you can get it to work. You can read about it here.

Ah I see! So I can't make it to work with Pokemon games. Sad

Btw, does anyone tried to connect the 2 programs from 2 different PC in the same network?

Neither VBA nor Dolphin have the functionality to connect like that, to my knowledge.

In every totorial I found that say how to connect Dolphin and VBA-M, it was mentioned that you can do it. You just have to add the IP of the computer that it is using Dolphin in the Joybus Option of VBA-M istead of the standar 127.0.0.1 that is used for connection in the same PC.

My bad, I thought the Joybus support in VBA was programmed to use localhost only. I have not heard of anyone testing it on anything other than the local machine. This is probably due to the fact that both emulators need to run at about fullspeed to get good results when linking. Adding in a network connection has the potential to produce some latency though. Via the internet, or even your own home wireless network, I'd expect to get some hiccups. It might be doable on a wired LAN though.

Heck you might actually be able to pull this thing off transferring Jirachi.

Nice! So there may still be hope. I'm gonna try it tomorrow with my 2 PCs but I'm not sure what to add now as the IP? For connection in the same PC it is 127.0.0.1, for connection with another PC in the same network what is it? Does anyone know?

That depends on your network. Often, it's an IP assigned in the "reserved" range, e.g. 192.168.0.0/16 or 10.0.0.0/8. You can usually find out what this is by accessing your router. If it tells you that your IP for your computer on your network is something like 192.168.0.1, you'll know that you're probably using 192.168.0.0/16 IP addresses. You can always check this IP address from your computer's network manager like this on Windows 7.
