Hi everyone,

I have been happily using Dolphin on Windows and Linux for a while now, and decided to give it a go on my new Android device (Lenovo Tab 11 Pro 2021 XiaoXin).

Games run well on it, but I was missing good old Wiimote controller support. Sadly enough, while my Bluetooth controller worked (an NVidia Shield controller), the original Wiimote did not work.

The issues with Android and Bluetooth has been noted elsewhere, and also seemed to affect this Android device. Installing the Wiimote App from Google store did not fix the issue, neither did other suggestions.

Eventually I went ahead and bought the DolphinBar, which has an integrated Bluethooth controller.

The AndroidBar connects to the Tab 11, the Wiimote(s) connect with the AndroidBar and in Dolphin I get some indication it works (e.g. in mode 1 the d-pad seems to function). But that is all... In mode 4 nothing seems to work at all. And yes, I tried a lot of different things;

1. Installed a previous build (3 months old)
2. Re-installed Dolphin
3. Wiped data, wiped cache
4. Tried different Wiimotes
5. Tried DolphinBar on PC
6. Rechecked "continuous scanning"
7. Disabled Gamecube controller
8. Tested few games for different responses

Eventually I went back in the builds further than I liked and randomly downloaded version 5.0.12779.

And it works. Flawlessy. The Wiimote is recognised in the game, the rumble works, the whole Wiimote works!

This means that somewhere between the current build offered on Google Store, and the older build I went with, there has been a change which has negatively impacted (at least on my device) the way the Wiimote and Dolphinbar communicate with the Dolphin software (or something like that?)

I am not a coder, nor an expert. But I really hope some devs might look at my message and consider this useful (and maybe fix this in future builds).

I am happy to provide more info, but at least I hope this helps somewhat.

Could you try to find the exact first version where it doesn't work? Almost nobody here has a DolphinBar (including me), so our ability to test is limited...

The versions I have tried (and not working) were 5.0-15445 (Google Play store), 5.0-14334 (beta) and 5.0-15613 (development).

As I said, I then randomly downloaded version 5.0-12779 (about a year old) and that one worked.

I will see if I have time this weekend to narrow it down (that will take some time), as I am interested (but have limited time though).

Short update - I have tested various builds and am now running 5.0.14787. So far so good, the Androidbar is still working as expected. This is weird, as one of the beta builds (that was not working) was older than the build I am running now. I will do more testing tomorrow.

Ok I have installed the latest update again from Google Play, and it works. The controllers connect through the Dolphinbar and the games recognize them. I have no idea why it worked this time, as I carefully tested the latest version last time.

But anyway, problem solved! Happy gaming!
