Ive been coming here off and on for about a year I think. Mostly I can get the info I need by search or reading so my post count is low. Ive been to alot of sites and I under stand limiting sections for higher members but I think 300 posts to post in the game section is very excessive. I can under stand 20-25 but considering that 70% of people are prob coming here for game issues it may deter people away.

This is such a specific site I think unless someone is highly technical its a bit hard to pull 300 posts. And if you want to play a game who wants to wait 4 weeks and 300 posts?

Just my 2 cents.

Game discussion has a long list of existing game threads. You can just do a search for the game you have a question about, then post it there.

like I said ive been a member for almost a year. That the first thing I do. I was a member before they changed the #'s I dont think its fair that people who pre date the rule change should have to. Obviously im established, im not posting stupid crap, why should us older member have to be punished. youve been a member even longer and only have 71posts. its hard to get 300. I think the number is WAY to high.

You've registered a year ago, but you've only been active for 5 hours. That's what's important, not your registration date.
If you were active you would've been up to date with the rules, so it's your fault, not the boards.

You have not experienced the crazy amount of stupid threads that have been created constantly in different parts of the forums.
You are not one of the people that deals with these people daily. We have to answer the same (stupid) questions over and over on a single day while the mods close these one after another.

The 300 post requirement might be a bit steep yes, but it keeps the idiots away who don't search the forum and create a thread about their 'issue' which has been talked about already.
Just be active and post where you can help. That's it.

As MaJoR already stated, there's a high chance that the game you're looking for already has a game thread, search for it and post in the appropriate thread.

And ive already stated that I HAVE searched, followed the guides and am STILL having issues. Ive PM a mod no result. If there is going to be excessive restrictions there should be fall backs for people who are legit.

Alright, so what game is it that you're having trouble with that apparently no one posted about?

What you're saying is true though. Since the Delfino Plaza posts don't count to your post count anymore, it's hard to get it up unless you post off-topic stuff in threads.
They should look into it and lower it.

I'm fairly sure someone said that if you create a good game thread then you can request that it be moved to game discussion, but it must follow the template. However, if you want support for your game, then it goes in the support section anyway, not the game discussion section. Either way, you should have no problem.

Forum members must have a 300 post count or higher to create new threads in the game discussion sections. This is where all of the official game threads are located and we'd rather not have that area cluttered up by new users posting random stuff there. That's not to say that it's not possible for a new user to know how to create a proper thread and not post random threads in those sections, but that has not been the case from what we've seen from the majority of new users who join here.

Unfortunately, anyone who does not have a 300 or higher post count will not be able to create threads in the game discussion forum. You are free to create a game thread in any other forum section and if that thread is deemed acceptable, it can be moved to the appropriate section later on. Forum members under 300 posts are able to reply to any thread in the game discussion forum, so that will have to do until you reach 300 posts or if we decide to lower the required post count later on.
