I was using Dolphin 4.0-5363, for instance.

First, I´m glad to experience good speed ups in some of my games (including SMG, Mario Kart DD and SMK). It´s very impressive.

Now, on to the problem. I was using Dolphin with the Log window enabled while playing Super Mario Sunshine. For some reason, during cinematics there are huge drops every time the characters talk.

I saw the log window while there was a talk by the characters, and noticed that it would start to fill the window with red messages (like warnings or something). The red messages say: PerfQuery.cpp:39 E[Video]: Flushed query buffer early!

What do you think, does it have anything to do with what I´m experiencing? Sure, my machine isn´t powerful but I somehow manage to get the cinematics to go full speed before any talk happens.

One more thing, for some reason the audio starts after the video on this game (while using OpenAL with 6 ms latency, also happens with SMK. Other games doesn´t suffer this).

Well having logs turned on definitely doesn't help first of all.

...Isn't the audio starting after the game BECAUSE your latency is set to 6ms? Or is it starting really late? XAudio2 is better anyway.

Oh crap, this scene does use perf querys... Perf querys do need to synchronize the CPU thread over the GPU thread with the GPU itself. So every access will block for a while. It's about the same issues as efb access... So yes, it's normal to see a slowdown if this feature is used.
