Pop-up "Question" crashes my game

Hello so this is my first thread so tell me if i'm against the rules somewhere.

I'm playing Pokemon Gale of darkness, and sometimes while i'm playing a pop-up titled "Question" will randomly appear, causing the game to go "is not working" and forcing me to close the emulator, without allowing me to save of course.

I found a similar thread, telling to go enable the "Use panic handler", but i did and it just happened again, my config is saved.

So if anyone knows a common trick that everyone has been using but since i'm new i don't know it, i would be glad to receive your guidance.

Thanks in advance.

Your profile says that you are using Dolphin 5.0-11830. The version right after it, 5.0-11832, fixes this issue (though I'm not entirely sure if it fixes it in all cases or only some cases).

Ok nice to know, thanks a lot for the answer! Would you know as well if my save will follow from one version of Dolphin to another? I'm pretty sure i'll have to move some save files but i'd like to know where they are, and if i just have to copy/paste it into the same folder of the upgraded Dolphin ver.

By default (if you haven't used something like portable.txt) only, all save files, settings and so on will carry over automatically. However, savestates don't work across versions unless the versions aren't too far apart, so make sure that you always have regular saves available.

Ok so in the end the problem is back, same thing but with the next version of Dolphin. Should i just install the latest version of Dolphin? I heard that it wasn't the best idea because latest version weren't the most stable ones.

Latest dev builds are actually more "stable" since only those have the latest fixes and reworked/new features.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

I'm still having this issue with Super Monkey Ball and Simpsons 5.0.12722. Any ideas what I can do to diagnose?

Turning off dual core should fix it.

Thanks JosJuice. I had tried that but the game immediately crashed with a bunch of OpCode issues.
