Hello,

This is my first time on this site...I just started playing with the dolphin emulator just yesterday, and When I had opened up my pokemon XD gale of darkness game on my mac side (The transitioning from towns was working fine when i first installed dolphin) and done my buisness in the port city (the city where u get the machine part for the purifier). I tried to go back to the lab, my screen shows the lab building shining (the point before you see him on the scooter)then it freezes and then all of the sudden, my dolphin crashes. Does anyone know the cause to this? and there is another issue that wasn't stated anywhere else. For some reason everytime i tried to view my shadow pokemon in the summary section, my dolphin crashes as well. (I am running on the current dolphin 3.5)

Oh i think this will give u guys a clue: When I crashed I looked at my report log that it gives me and the second thread always seem to be the one crashing while the others are normal.

1st - Did u try to redump your game?
2nd - Can u show us your settings pls?

btw: This game is very demanding, I guess you have some performance problems Tongue

I surprisingly got the graphics to be perfect on the mac but not my windows 7 :/ and here is the rest of my settings (btw if this crash gets fixed and the shadow pokemon veiwing issue) i would be good to go ! xD Also the picture of the crash point i attached on my first post ignore the weird words, i was just using the latest test version of 3.5-412 build aside from 3.5 official to see if the problem persists which it still does

If you read the official game thread ( http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-gc-pok%C3%A9mon-xd-gale-of-darkness--26142 ) you'll see that this game seems to have issues on Mac. So I suppose this is a Mac specific issue and that there's nothing you can do. Wait for a hypothetical future fix

hmm i read that and the only thing they found with mac was the cutscene in the beginning :/ and that was it. Also my issue didn't come up right away, it was fine then all of the sudden something caused it to crash when i transition to another place. I believe it was because I tried to use the pokemon iso that was on my windows side :x (because at the time i was lazy to copy it over). Can anyone verify if it truly was the cause? because apparently that was when my whole crashing started.
Also to counteract your point (not to offend you or be rude) in the wiki page it has:
during the opening cutscene where XD001 is about to use Shadow Blast on the S.S. Libra the emulator (which i got passed that point) crashes.

What I meant was that if a crash might occur in the beginning you were likely to get other crashes in the rest of the game.

Let's admit that these crashes aren't random ones and we're gonna try to find a solution. The first thing you can try is to use LLE (I'm gonna assume you aren't using it). Your CPU might not be powerful enough to use it permanently (you didn't precise which i5 processor you got exactly so I can't tell you) but it might help you to get passed this part of the game at least

You could get past the part that crashes on your Mac with your Windows 7 PC, then save, then go back to Mac.
PC Specs
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X 3.5GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 8GB 2400MHz DDR4
OS: Windows 10 64-Bit

the thing is I believe its a crash that will happen everytime i transition, but I will double check and get back to you guys

Evidently, the OpenGL backend sometimes does something that's fine on Linux/Windows, but that OS X doesn't like. This'll no longer be an issue once the GLSL-master branch works on OS X, but that's quite a ways off. v_v

ahh ty for the links :X Oh i found an interesting discovery Big Grin. When i had tried to use software renderer this comes up when it crashes in the same location. while thread 2 is normal
