Pokemon XD & Controller Configuration

Hey,

If anyone would be kind enough to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Will possibly even donate a small cashapp fee.
I am trying to play Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness but when i open to the title screen it says "No memory card in slot A" and prohibits me to continue further.

I also believe my xbox one controlled is not set up correctly given it does not match youtube tutorials but I cannot determine that until I can get a game started.

You can insert a memory card into Slot A if you go to Config > GameCube.
