Tried registering the DLL myself, got an error. This is absurd, I don't want to have to reinstall windows 7 from a CD, then update to SP1, then install updates after that, and then lose everything for nothing anyway. Infuriating. ![]() 09-14-2016, 12:44 AM

You must not mess with dll files manually, ever. In theory it works, but since the windows dll system is screwed up, it just won't work. The 1st hit on google about the api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 Did you try installing that update? And if that doesn't work, which might be, because it's just an update, try: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download...px?id=4823 If one of those works, can you report back, so the FAQ can be updated? All the developers have the full Visual Studio installed, which should include this. 09-14-2016, 04:01 AM

The second link gives me: "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found. The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available." However, I fixed it. Turns out I disabled Windows Update in services.msi to try and fix an update that wouldn't "stick" and kept showing up after installation, and I apparently never turned it back on. 192 updates later, Dolphin 5.0 is working..... 09-27-2016, 11:00 PM
I did a reinstall against my wishes. Updated after over 300 updates. Tried 5.0. Works. Windows Update is garbage.
