Hi all,
It took me about 45mins to get my new Wii Remote Plus working on Mac OS X.
My Wii Remote is a "RVL-CNT-01-TR" and came in a "Wii U" branded box, not the old box.
Apparently the new remotes include a red "sync" button on the back, but this wasn't mentioned anywhere in instructions on Dolphin's homepage, or these forums (far as I could tell).
Problem: On Mac OS X 10.8.2, attempting to pair a new WiiU branded "RVL-CNT-01-TR" remote using "button 1" and "button 2" fails. All four blue LEDs on the remote continue to flash, even if Dolphin for Mac (v.3.5) shows "1 controller" connected. When starting a game, the controller appears disconnected.
Solution: Ignore instructions as written. In Dolphin, under the "Wiimote" config menu, select "Real Wiimote" and click "Refresh". Now press the red "sync" button on back of the Wii Remote Plus *once* (I didn't have to hold it in). The first blue LED lights up solid. Problem solved.
Perhaps you can include this fix in the FAQ?
Let me know if this works for you, if you also got stuck.
I found this fix much easier than trying to parse through that very long "TR" controller thread!
:-)
