please insert microphone

I'm having trouble with GH: smash hits, it's giving me the microphone error, and i am using an instrument for it(Guitar hero Controller) but it's not letting me bypass it without a stupid mic, what gives?

Assuming you're using an emulated Wii Remote, did you set its extension controller to Guitar?

for some reason it's not my detecting my guitar now. :/ I have guitar extension on, and my xinput device is on 0. when i go in the game on the start button works for bringing up the wii dashboard... I tried to go to input configuration but idk what's going on there, all i just see is random input things, it doesn't show me to how to configure the controller. The only time my guitar worked was when i had my Xbox one controller plugged in, and that was when it was showing the: "Please insert microphone thingy"
