I'm not making exceptions for another pc because this is the max I will spend. I also want to record videos with fraps of dolphin. My guess is that the quad core processor would be better for that but the dual core processor without ht on would give better performance for gaming but with fraps it would probably suck more. The iBuyPower would be massively better for dolphin and fraps. A core i3 will smoke an athlon II 600 series in just about everything you throw at it, also keep in mind that it uses HT so in task manager it will show up as having 4 cores even though it only has 2.

I'm ordering the pc on tuesday november 23rd as soon as I see the money that I trnsferred into my paypal account. I was just wondering which one would have better performance because seeing that the i3 only has 2 cores and 2 threads per core making the os think that there is 4 cores. I know for a fact that the i3 is better at running dolphin. I also know that the i3 has shared cache (4 Megabytes of smartcache as they call it) between the two cores whereas the quad core has 512 Kilobytes per core. I know that shared cache is much better for gaming especially when you are running a program that can only use one of the cores. I have to turn off HT when playing dolphin since it will result in a "masive slowdown" from what I have researched and I really want to use fraps. This means that the two cores will have to run dolphin and also run the os and fraps. The quad core might actually stand a chance for recording games since it can do all of that per core saying that it will do that. I'm not 100% sure my information is correct because I am partially a noob. The graphic card that I chose is pretty good from what I have read seeing that wikipedia gives a pretty accurate on computer stuff. lol

@Andyman

Trust me that ibuypower with the core i3 will be MUCH better even if you're running fraps as well.
