Please help! Can't get past eye sentry in skyview temple

I am unable to get past the eye sentry in the skyview temple due to what seems to be a limitation with my controller (xbox 360 emulated wii m+).

The issue is that I cannot spin my sword around in a wide enough circle...if that makes sense. My link makes a small circle when I spin the right analog stick rather than a large circle. This also causes an issue with slingshot and bow&arrow because I have a limited space to aim and shoot. Has anyone gotten past this issue? I need to make that eyeball spin around really fast !
