please help

just downloaded the latest version, but every time i try to start it i get this "the file or directory is corrupted or unreadable". i have already downloaded several of the most recent versions, and they all say the same thing.

Which specific build you´ve got? Which OS do you have? We can´t help you with lack of info.

If possible, post a screenshot of the message.

Create a text file and name it "portable.txt", and place it in the Dolphin directory beside the EXE. Does it still get the error after doing that?

Also, I suggest a more interesting thread title. "please help" is not going to attract much interest from passerbys.

Sorry bout the lack of info, i dont know the specs of my laptop aside from the OS. The OS is windows 8(latest version) laptop is a toshiba satellite c55-a, brand new from last christmas....give me about 10 min or so and ill screenshot the message

Clear your cache, temp files and download it again

Scarecrow: What build specifically did you download and where did you download it from? What are you using to extract the archive? And how big is the file that you downloaded?

Try installing dolphin to c:\dolphin folder, if i remember there was some permissions issue when installing dolphin in certain windows folders? Might be wrong about that but you lose nothing giving it a try. That or redownload dolphin from here and try again: https://dolphin-emu.org/?nocr=true

The last one i downloaded was 4.0-3245 and im using a program called unpacker (never had problems with it). Im downloading dolphin from this site and it is 4,795kb and 4.66mb after extracting
