Playing input recording from save state freezes game (Dolphin still works fine)

After I saved a playback recording, I went to play it all back. But the problem is that when the save state apparently "loaded," the entire screen was still black and there was that constant buzzing noise that plays whenever a real Gamecube freezes. The VI frame counter does not change from zero due to the game freezing. This only happens when trying to play back that recording; starting up the game does not result in the same problem. The thing is, Dolphin did not crash at all when this occurred, even when I stopped the emulation.

I used several revisions of Dolphin (4.0-7508, 4.0-8520, and 5.0-rc-37 to be specific) and created test playback recordings, attempting to find a fix. The ones that started from a save state resulted in the same problem mentioned up there, even when playing different games (like Super Smash Bros. Melee). The ones that started at the very start of the emulation worked fine.

Changing up the configurations and graphics settings did practically nothing. In fact, I never even touched them when and after I was making that playback and trying to view it for the first time.

I swear, I feel like Dolphin is being more of a jerk to me...
