Playing extracted ISO

Is it possible to play an ISO extracted using Dolphin?

I ask this because I'm trying out romhacking, and I don't want to touch my Wii yet. Wii ISOs can't be edited by any normal ISO tool, there's no editor out for it (I can't find one anyway), and there's no editing function for GCZs in Dolphin.

Sorry I don't understand your question Confused.
You want to extract a iso, edit some files and compress it to a iso again?
New computer, I'm back!

I can do that now (found trucha signer) (fails to work), but what I really want is either:

1. being able to play an extracted ISO (Dolphin can extract the entire ISO)
2. being able to edit a GCZ file (replace files inside)

If this is already possible, please tell me (or tell me how)

What I think that you are looking for is Wii Scrubber, look it up on google.

You can use Wii scrubber to mod Wii ISOs and probably DolTool to mod GCMs. GCZ is a GCM or ISO compressed with LZO, so editing the compression would just completely corrupt it. And yes dolphin can load the uncompressed disc images.

I'll check DolTool out, but it doesn't seem to be related to GCMs.

Can Dolphin load a folder? You say it can load the decompressed ISO, but what I mean is an ISO's contents extracted via Dolphin (properties window)

DolTool is some GCM browser like Dolphin's Filesystem tool, but I think it allows you able to replace files.
