Pixel 2 XL not working with GameCube to Wii u adapter

I have a Google Pixel 2 XL running Android 8.1.0 Oreo. I have Dolphin 5.0-8027 for android and trying to play Paper Mario and the thousand year door
I'm using the inbox OTG adapter to try and use the Wii u GameCube adapter and it asks for permission to use the usb device, so I allow it then the game doesn't start and Dolphin completely crashes for no apparent reason.

I believe that's a known issue. Don't know if anybody's working on fixing it though.

It's supposedly going to get looked into soon, so we'll see what happens.

That person didn't actually say they were going to look into it I don't think.

I've been having the same issues for about a year now. Seems like a bug with how AOSP deals with usb devices now.

I get the same with a Dolphinbar on my ShieldTV. If I don't have it hooked up (or don't have any WiiMotes synced to it, or don't allow access to the USB device) the game runs fine. As soon as I connect a WiiMote, then Dolphin will launch the game, go to a medium-gray screen, then exit back to the main menu.

Doesn't seem specific to the Gamecube adapter, more likely an issue with USB devices.

Then you wouldn't have the benefits of native support in Dolphin, though...

jk. But in all seriousness, Google needs to stop breaking support for older things, though that's what happens when you only have preview images for a limited amount of phones.
