Rolling back over 1500 revisions is definitely going to deprecate save states made using one of the latest revisions. Plus, save states may break when saving/loading especially if unstable options such as "dual core" and "idle skipping" are used. Consider save states incompatible with (fairly) different revisions, and in some cases, unstable.
Do you still have the in-game saves? If so, you should copy those (not the save-states) into r6000 and try again. You'll have higher chances of success this way.
If that's a GameCube game, copy the User\GC folder (or just the MemoryCard?.???.raw files). If that's a Wii game, copy the User\Wii\title folder (or right-click the game from the game list and do "Open Wii save folder" so you have an idea of what folder to copy).
(Some commits introduce errors or typos that may cause regressions in Dolphin, which may end up being unreported until someone eventually finds that out and reports it on Dolphin's issue tracker... Finding out that a regression in a game occured is the easy part, but narrowing the "culprit" down to a few revisions is the "hard" part)
