Hello,

I am looking for a barebones laptop that could play some of the lighter games. I am really not picky about which game I play, so I would seek out a game for my pc.

My question is as follows. Would a i7-3632 QM be able to play light games without a GPU? If not would the i7-4700mq make a world of a difference?

Do you really need a laptop? You should be looking at the neweset generation, which would be i7/i5/i3 4XXX. So yes, go with the i7-4700mq

Would the i7-4700mq be fine without a graphics card? For a game like melee, assuming no graphical enhancements.

The HD 4600 that comes with the i7-4700MQ can hit around 2-3x IR (as in 2-3x greater resolution than the original GC/Wii resolution) depending on the game
