[Image: SP_A0122.jpg] I was unable to make sensor bar myself so I gave it to a electrician, and he used LEDs of different colors. I think pointer/cursor not appearing because of LEDs of different colors. But see the pic and confirm if I'm right or wrong.

PROBLEM is that pointer/cursor is not appearing, I tested with candles and it appeared so I bet it's my custom sensor bar.

You need to use LED's that emit IR in the IR spectrum. coloured LED wavelength's are shorter and won't work at longer ranges.

well there's your problem... that's a pic of a monitor

but seriously, IR LEDs that clearly have a red light are generally of poor quality since its releasing more visible light than IR
something like http://www.dealextreme.com/p/5mm-ir-led-emitters-20-pack-2399 would be good

IDK if it's IR LED or not. Please tell how to tell difference b/w them. When they are off they both looks transparent. Can you give any photo in which the shopkeeper can easily see difference. Actually english is not 1st language in my country, however every studied person knows perfect english but mostly failures open a electric shop here so they don't know what an IR LED is, as a electrician they should know.

In US I think it's so much easier to buy, I have to go to a shop and ask for an IR LED but it's hard to get it here.

EDIT: Oh, I think I chose the totally opposite LEDs right. However will 2 Red LEDs on both sides will work in a range of 1m.

i started the sentence expecting something like

"i thought everyone learned about IR light with the wii"
but no

and no, i never saw anything about light wavelengths in school
ended up studying them on my own after reading about lasers (and how dangerous mine is XD )

Red light is NOT Infra Red light

you cannot see IR light unless you use a camera and i can't demonstrate IR light by the use of pics.

things that emit IR: TV remotes/wii sensor bar/old light bulbs/the sun
if you have any of the above that you dont mind breaking apart to pull out the LED then you can use them

you can check if the LED is emitting IR by turning on the wii and replace your wii sensor bar with your LEDs, make sure the LEDs are spaced out similar to the sensor bar and aiming straight in your direction

if you live near fukushima, just point your wiimote in the direction of the daiichi plant and it should work nicely.

OK so those LEDs which are used in TV Remotes will work.
