I hope I have this in the right section, sorry if it isn't.

So...the new skyward sword game is coming out soon, (nov. 20th for us Americans, lucky Swedes, heh), and I was hoping you guys could help out a noob (when it comes to Dolphin, anyway) on getting the best performance for my machine?

I have a macbook (forget what year the model is, but its the white one, not pro. I think its the newest version for the white macbooks) which is an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, 2.4ghz with 4 gb memory, Nvidia geforce 320m graphics, n windows 64-bit OS (currently running Windows 8 Developer Preview, Will downgrade to Windows 7 if you guys say its better performance wise for Dolphin)

I know its not the fastest machine, N I don't care to play games in HD. Native Resolution will work fine for me as long as the game runs. Cant afford a faster machine, so thats out of the question, lol. Nor a real Wii. Regret to say I sold my old Wii. Still have games for it though haha.

Any tips would be much appreciated. I did follow Dolphin's performance guide on the main webpage. If anyone has any links to places to speed up performance thats great also. Let me know. Thanks. Smile

Oh, also I was curious. I like the smaller size of the Nyko Wiimotes. Does anyone have any knowledge if they would work with Dolphin as well? or does it have to be Official Nintendo Wii Remotes? Saw a bundle at Best buy for Nyko branded Wii remote & Nunchuk for a decent price.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks. Smile

You're not going to get a lot of help asking about a game that isn't out in most countries yet.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion. I'm at work so I'll try it tonight after. You mentioned to edit the directx 11 ini? I do notice that directx9 plays dolphin a bit smoother by comparison to dx11 and OpenGL. But I'll try this for dx11. Crossing my fingers lol.

Also, I realize I ask about skyward sword specifically, but it would be nice to speed up emulation in general. I have a few wii and GameCube games that "almost" play full speed as it is. Twilight princess seems to play fair enough. Haven't gotten far into it though other than after you first get epona. Super Mario sunshine also plays pretty good until special effects occur (the "M" logos to enter worlds).

Also I asked whether the nyko wii remotes would work with dolphin. So plenty to answer here haha. And I know there are some out there that got skyward sword early. Just preparing myself for it here hehe.

Thanks again guys Smile

There's like 2000 threads about that already. And even if this question was specific to SS, there's already a thread for that one or two (or rather, about 10 and I closed 8 of them >_>).
