The issue is in the title, I suppose. I've been using Dolphin with 0 issues, able to generally games at 1080p with 4x MSAA with a little tinkering here and there, and using the Mayflash Dolphinbar with 0 issues as well. However, today, I suddenly lost the ability to use Dolphin at all, due to extreme performance drops. I'm unsure what the cause is, and ticking and unticking the settings that tend to cause/fix various problems has done nothing, with GC games generally running at 30FPS (50% performance drop) with severe audio tearing, and Wii games running at 0.6FPS (a 99% relative performance drop) with the expected audio tearing that comes with it. One more interesting thing is that, with wii remotes connected, they will, 100% of the time, vibrate for 5 seconds after any emulation ends. I'm unsure what I need to do to fix this, and any assistance would be appreciated.
Performance suddenly tanking after weeks of no issues

Have you installed any Windows updates lately? Have you recently installed new GPU drivers? Have you done a Restart (not a shutdown) of your computer recently?

Yes, no, and multiple times. The problem persists, and seems to be related to some kind of shader issue, as the issue is most noticeable in games with lens flares/bloom, as games which use them prominently (Super Mario Sunshine and Wario World use them on the title screen) cause, after upgrading to the latest dev build, extreme slowdown when drawing those effects (down to 1fps or lower), while games that use texture-based solutions (Mario Party 7, for example) for the same effects have no such issues after upgrading to the latest dev build. 04-13-2020, 08:28 AM

If lens flares cause the issue, it most likely isn't a shader issue, but an issue with EFB access from CPU. 04-13-2020, 08:34 AM

Had "Skip EFB Access From CPU" turned off for... some reason. Seems to have cleared up all my problems by turning it on though. That only sped up the game I'm testing (Sunshine) on the title screen/ load screen, and I'm now up to 8fps-ish in-game. |
