Hello. I tried to make a post in the gamecube forums but the site wouldn't let me. I'm having alot of issues getting Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex running at it's correct 60 fps limit. The title screen, and the intro movies all run correctly, but as soon as you get you get to the room where you select what worlds to go to and the worlds themselves, are all locked at 30 fps. The game ran at 60 fps on my gamecube iirc. It's like the game has some built in frame limiter.

I have a good PC for dolphin as well.

i5 4670k @ 4.4ghz
gtx770
8 gb ram

Is this an emulation issue with Dolphin? I read a thread over at the google code site and the way they made it sound was it had something to do with idle skipping and the vi hack....but I disabled those both and nothing helps.

Is this fixable?

Which build you are using? Does the sound slows down (gets choppy) when getting down to 30 FPS?

EDIT: Update to latest dev build, you got a good beast there and should handle it.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

The game switches between 30 and 60 fps on GameCube to my knowledge. Unless you can prove otherwise, I'm assuming it's the game.

Well your computer should be able to handle it perfectly so that's not the problem, if the sound does not stutter when the fps goes down that just means the game is made that way and there is nothing you can do about it
The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world.

The sound doesn't stutter when the fps comes down. The Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games tend to change framerate depending on what effects are on screen. The first world has these "mirror" ice patches and when you get near them the framerate drops to 30.

Set frame rate to "audio" if that helps

Sheesh, I have the game for PS2 also and the framerate stays locked at 60 fps and that's a weaker system than Gamecube.

But yea the ice patches...I go near them, 30 fps...I walk away from them, 60 fps. That's shoddy game programming though IMO. I'm sure the GC was capable of holding a solid 60 fps on this game.

Lazy port; you'll see this in other games too.
