Sheesh, I have the game for PS2 also and the framerate stays locked at 60 fps and that's a weaker system than Gamecube.
But yea the ice patches...I go near them, 30 fps...I walk away from them, 60 fps. That's shoddy game programming though IMO. I'm sure the GC was capable of holding a solid 60 fps on this game.
