How far would I be able to push an i7-6770HQ? Planning on getting a Mac later in the year and wondering how well this'll run Dolphin (Boot Camp or otherwise).

Also wondering how well the Iris Pro 580 will run at the rMBP's native res (2880x1800).

Probably , 100->200MHz via overclocking tool : Intel XTU (Windows only) . I pushed my i7 4700MQ @ 3.2GHz (maximum turbo on 4 cores ) to 3.4GHz by using Intel XTU
i7 6770HQ = i7 6700HQ + Iris Pro 580
According to notebookcheck , i7 6770HQ has the same frequency as i7 6700HQ . i7 6700HQ has maximum turbo boost of 3.5GHz but it's just doable on only 1 core . With 4 cores (full load) , it only goes up to 3.1GHz . So you can probably overclock it to 3.3GHz (4 cores active ) or even up to 3.5GHz (only 2 cores active)
According to Dolphin Benchmark , Skylake is slightly faster than Haswell . So i7 6770HQ should be as fast as i7 4810MQ @ 3.6GHz or i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz . What does that number mean you might ask ? You can run most games full speed Big Grin
Intel HD 580 is a successor of the Iris Graphics 6200 . So I bet it can handle 1080p or even more than that . Not sure about 2880x1800 though

Intel's benchmarks say that Iris Pro 580 falls between GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti in GFLOPs performance... would that give you an idea of how it'd perform?
Also, followup question... how much faster would an i7-6770HQ be vs. an i7-3770?

idk . Intel is known for having bad driver . No matter how good your iGPU is , you can have graphic issues in some games. I tested Intel HD 4600 (i5 4300M) on some demanding tittles , I got into the intro and menu without any issue but after that ...only white and black screen ! Although this only happens on some games , I must say iGPU is not a recommendation . You should get a discrete gpu instead
Not just Dolphin , even the well-known Wii U emulator "CEMU" hate it

I 've already answered that

I was talking about the non-K variation. I guess it would be a slight improvement?

Your i7 3770 is slower than i7 3770k @ 4.5GHz . So 20% improvement is quite sth I must say

How did you overclock your 4700MQ? I have a 6700HQ and I thought there was no way to overclock non-K cpus?

You can overclock MQ CPU by increasing limiter of turbo boost , HQ is similar to MQ (HQ is not upgradable though) . So I bet HQ CPU is overclock-able too
You will get a free speed boost but your CPU will run hotter than before (Power Consumption : 47W max -> 58W ) .
Make sure your laptop's cooling unit is up to the task
Afaik , M CPU is not overclock-able (i5 4300M for example)

Wish I could do something like that with my i7-3630QM. I've downloaded Intel XTU to give a try but all options on the overclocking page were disabled Sad

Ivy Bridge MQ is good , you can unlock 400Mhz max . It's a shame that it's only available on i7 3720qm and up
