Hi, I’m kind new to dolphin, I've using it a little successfully with some GC games, but now I want to do an upgrade to get better performance specially on emulators, the thing is that my mobo is really really old, it have 775 socket, and my graphic card are old too =) I had a little research by the forum and the interwebz, but couldn't find any conclusive info about my old old hardware =) well, here's my specs, please I want to know what I have to upgrade to get a better performance in dolphin (if I can achieve same on pcsx2 it would be nice):

MoBo: P5kpl/1600 (max 4gb ram 800mhz and 775 socket)
RAM: 4GB 800mhz kingstone
Graphics: GeForce 9500GT
Processor: Intel core 2 quad q8200 stockspeed (2.333 mhz)

so, what I should upgrade? Processor or Graphic Card? I want (if possible) Im to one of those and make the other wait a little bit, but I want to play something like Darkside Chronicles at 100% =)

Thanks in advance and sorry by my bad english .-.

Upgrading the graphics card will allow you to run games in HD resolutions without reducing performance.

But upgrading the cpu will improve your performance as long as you're willing to run your games at standard def. resolutions.

You should wait and save up money for a new sandy bridge or ivy bridge system.

Thanks by the info =) so, I think I should go on CPU, Im think about change it to a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400, my friend told me the same as you, but I really don't have money .-. so I want to upgrade it just to run wii games ok and thats all, don't care too much about HD XD

well then, a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 is a good deal? I mean, if I can run any game smotly and by a low budget then thats enough for me... I would get a significantly performance gain?

about the video card, I was thinking about take a Radeon Hd5770, but for performance I think I will aim on cpu this time =)

An E8400 should be 20-25% faster. I would seriously suggest saving up for ivy bridge if you don't want to waste your money.

Don't expect much of an improvement from that upgrade. As I said: "I would seriously suggest saving up for ivy bridge if you don't want to waste your money".
