Like NV said, when you mouse over it says incompatiable. I had a laptop with a GMA 945 and to increase compatibility I would use 3d Analyze. Try it. There's also another solution and I can't remember its name but if you find any forums or posts about 3d analyze I'm sure it'l be brought up somewhere.

I posted right after you did so I didn't see that. Also the only other solutions I can think of are use different drivers, or 3d analyzer.

Wait, wasn't Xtreme2damax the one who said Intel GMAs are crap and not made for gaming in any way?

Honestly, with such a Graphics unit, you can't expect games to actually play right or even start.
Doesn't matter if it can run Source Games fine, Valve put alot of effort in the source engine, also it's from 2004 so....
Sonic 4 Episode 1 on the other hand was just released a few years ago, you can't expect the developers to make sure it runs on any computer flawlessly.

Just my two cents

Xtreme please keep in mind that I am a fellow GMA 950 user. I have a laptop from 2006 when it was first introduced to laptops. I have been using the laptop fairly actively for 6 years and I can assure you that this is completely normal. The chipset is garbage and the drivers are garbage. Applications that use SM 2.0 and up don't always work correctly. Applications that use SM 3.0 and up almost never work correctly.

What I said/meant was for serious gaming such as don't try to play Crysis, Bulletstorm, GTAIV etc.. (Which apparently can run on a GMA950, not too well I'd imagine.) They are average or below with emulators such as PCSX2 and Dolphin.

So I've had Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 4 running at full speed or close to full speed, Project64, Kega Fusion, ZSnes, ePSXe all work fine. I really don't see any reason why a 2D Sonic game that looks marginally better than Sonic on Genesis/Megadrive won't work.

Well, Minecraft most likely laggs on that too and it looks like a N64 game so...

Were you going to recommend Swiftshader? I tried that and it's slow as hell plus has a huge watermark.

When I get the money I am going to be installing 2GB of ram and a Core2Duo T5300 cpu which should cost me around $60. It's a shame nothing can be done about the GPU though.

Minecraft is coded in Java I believe which means the CPU matters more.
