Just one other question, I saw that emulation needs high clock speeds, mine is 3.5Ghz default, is that not enough, or is it an amd thing?
Pc lags, powerfull enough?

Clock rate is not a measurement of performance. Emulation requires high per core performance.

Is there any amd cpu that would be good at this?
I salvaged my current cpu from a hp computer, then picked a motherboard that would work for it and a fx 8350, which I had my eyes on, for when I had the cash for it. And the 8350 can be had for less than $200, a new cpu +motherboard would be alot more. Just thinking, wondering what I should upgrade to, thanks 10-12-2014, 09:34 AM

If you do get around to upgrading I would go the Intel route. Even if you have to replace the motherboard. A $70 Intel cpu + $100 motherboard is miles faster than a $200 amd cpu when it comes to dolphin.

I will think on the intel, but as of now, it's running flawlessly.
I did have to change it from the default opengl to direct3D (opengl would force close after a minute or so). But now I have all the graphic settings way up, and it looks better than ever at a constant 30fps. So thanks again for all the help guys, I really appreciate it. |
