PC cooling help

To all members of this community, I wish to ask for a favor.

I want to buy a CPU Cooler for my summers, as in winters, Stock CPU exceeds 50 C on desktop. Not only I want to run my CPU cooler, but to overclock it to 3 GHz as well.

I have in my mind Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. The problem is that its size (height) may be a problem for my mini tower case.

So, I want to know how I can measure the dimension of chassis from inside so that I can see whether it will fit in the enclosure or not. If yes, I would be lucky enough. Otherwise, I might have to switch towards lower Hyper TX3.

Also, I want someone to share his experience on using Hyper 212 Plus.

Are you serious? I can't even afford a 20" LCD worth 6k and you are talking about watercooling. That is really expensive here, so no for me.

My real problem is that I am afraid of protuding heat pipes of Hyper 212. Whether I can close the case or not, that is my real question. Can anyone guide me how to take length reading inside the enclosure?

Because I really want to OC my Q6600 to 3 GHz mark

Liquid isn't as expensive as you might think, the initial cost is a bit, but you can reuse most of it as you change systems. I spent maybe $500 on my loop, and that's including 2 rads, 2 GPU blocks, an i7 block, and everything else.

I think watercooling is insane and the only people who do it are those who can afford to just straight up buy a whole new machine anytime they want. I mean really, you have a metal box filled with high end, expensive electronic components, so the most logical thing to do is RUN HOSES FULL OF WATER THROUGH IT. Yeah that makes lots of sense! If you're rich!

To the OP, There are a lot of CPU coolers you could choose from. Check out the Scythe shuriken coolers, which are downdraft coolers, as well as other downdraft ones, like the Noctua coolers. Also there's a company called Xigmatek who makes great CPU coolers. As to your original choice, the Hyper 212 is a great piece of hardware, but it is a little large, so a downdraft cooler would maybe work better for you if you have a smaller tower.

Oh, and if you decide on a downdraft cooler (or any new one, for that matter), make sure the cooler will clear the tops of your RAM, as some RAM, especially the sort that has heat spreaders that extend upwards, can be too high and interfere with your cpu cooler installation.

That is what I am lacking... But I measured the width from mobo to side cover and found I am safe with 1 mm gap O_O

I will do that! First I'll have to wait for 6 years to complete my school + college. Then wait for another 2 years for US Visa permission, because if Indians continue to migrate, soon the whole US will be called IInd India

But, yeah. I have fed up here. Will come to US. Now Happy?

And the second problem is that I chose Dual Core in April and now I found that all components are part of fast PC. So, I kinda thrown my parents' money away. But I am damn sure that I would not regret with my next possible build in future, like I had with my Dual Core.

$500 = Aprox INR 23000. I spent that on my new upgraded system. I had blown upto 50k if I had bought the same in April.

Don't quite know how to tell you to measure it, but my case is a bit on the smaller side and this just fit by chance

Or you can just buy a corsair H50, lol. Will liquid cool your cpu and fit into even a small case.
