PC controller not working, please help

My pc game controller is not working on the dolphin emulator although it shows up as an option in GCpad configuration, my controller shows no signs of being able to work on the dolphin emulator, I am using a Generic USB Joystick ?

Can someone please help me ?

Stop using 3.5-367, get a more recent build, try again and see if it gets fixed.

You've claimed in your profile that you are using Dolphin version 3.5-367.
If that is not the case you should have specified which version you are actually using, per the forum rules.

Dolpinh is an ongoing evolving emulator. In the download area you will see stable builds and SVN builds. Your on an old 3.5 version that has been long since updated. I suggest you try the latest stable build. 4.0.2.

oh thats what you meant sorry I'm not experienced in what you were talking about, but I am using the latest version of dolphin, and i was able to get some buttons to work like button 0 and button 1, but the directional buttons are not working, also the buttons that I did get to work, which was shown gc pad, don't work when I'm playing the game ?

so what would I need to do in the situation that I'm in ?

never mind I just fixed the problem sorry for wasting anyones time.

Well you set them on on the GCpad config screen. The same code plays in game, so go back to the config screen and make sure you mapped all buttons and analogs. Also use dinput if sdl fails and vice versa. Take some screen shots to minimize on the post, we may see your issue.

Don't just say latest. Say the exact revision you are using.

If he got his Dolphin version on another well-known site 3.5-367 is probably the latest one...
