Hurray! Update v19.1.0 is now live through the auto-updater! Remember v19.0.0? Well... This is the follow-up. Last time OoT Redux got overhauled. This time MM Redux got overhauled, and OoT Redux saw some additional improvements too.
Some of the big features:
- Redux support for several OoT ROM hacks
- Overhauled Redux patches
- Removed Lite GUI mode
- Some bug fixes for options that got reported a lot
- Updated Smash Remix
So what's so great about this Redux version? Two words: Remappable D-Pad. Yup. Remember that GUI in the patcher where you had to configurate the D-Pad layout? No more, just remap it within the pause screen by using the D-Pad on the icons. It gets saved to your save slot by the way. Also neat. One thing before you guys go all nuts with it, the actions that can be mapped are somewhat limited. Most items can't be mapped. In short, you can map the same actions that the patcher allowed before. For OoT, you can map items from the equipment subscreen too. There's still a default D-Pad layout.
Anyway, as for some of the new MM Redux features:
- Experimental 30 FPS
- Map some items to B slot with L
- Gear Swap with C buttons (access your old swords or shields, or completely unequip)
- Unset item from C with C-Up
- HUD toggle with L in Map subscreen
- Inventory Editor with L in Quest Status subscreen
- Ocarina icons (hurray, ShadowOne333)
- Cheats (also for OoT)
- Instant Elegy and Control Flow of Time with L + D-Pad buttons (with restrictions set by the game of course)
- Skip Guard (only talk to the guard once in the game, next cycle the guard will be already deactivated)
- Dual Set (just like in OoT, though at the moment there isn't a whole lot of actions to map for MM)
Once the decomp progresses for MM I would like to unlock masks and a few more items for the D-Pad.
That's about it. Until next time.
A regular release will follow once it's stable. There's likely a few bugs at the moment. For the time being nothing big is planned.
