just limit your fps to 30, it'll play fine, no syncing issue at all.

Set the internal resolution at the highest setting which fits your on screen resolution, ie. 3x for 1080p displays.
Don't forget that Xenoblade is 16:9 only, meaning you judge by the first number, the horizontal pixel count.

You can set the internal resolution higher then your screen resolution. Game will be rendered in higher resolution but it will display in your screen resolution ( resolution you choose under "fullscreen resolution" )

Hello everyone, I did some simple benchmarks on the game and I'd like to share the results with you. I'm using Mylek's latest patched build; my pc is a Q9400 @ 3.10GHz, a GTS 250 1GB and 4GB DDR2 @ ~750MHz. To test I just load a game on an outside area, no playing, just load and wait a few seconds to let the FPS stabilize. Of course during battles the FPS will go down a lot, so this is just for me to be able to understand which settings really affect the FPS. Here you go:

Constants:
* 800x600, Stretch, fullscreen, Auto (multiple)
* Framelimit OFF, No Audio Throttle, Vsync OFF
* DSound 48KHz

Obs.: I used a VERY conservative resolution to minimize the effects on the tests, but pumping it up to 720p later I got the exact same FPS.

Variables:
* Idle Skipping
* Accurate VBeam
* Recompiler (JIT/JITIL)
* Lock threads to cores
* Audio backend (HLE/LLE)

1) All OFF / JIT / HLE: 21 fps
2) All OFF / JITIL / HLE: 22 fps

3) Idle Skipping / JIT / HLE: 33.5 fps
4) Accurate VBeam / ...: 33 fps
4.1) Idle + VBeam / ...: 46.5 fps
4.2) Idle + VBeam / JITIL / ...: 44 fps

5) Lock Threads / JIT / ...: 21 fps
6) Lock Threads / JITIL / ...: 22 fps
6.1) Lock + Idle + VBeam / JIT / ...: 47 fps <<< winner
6.2) Lock + Idle + VBeam / JITIL / ...: 44 fps

7) Lock + Idle + VBeam / JIT / LLE: 30 fps

Thanks for the benchmarking. I'll have to try your 6.1 settings and see if it gives me a little boost.

lock threads to core actually decrease your fps if you're moving around.

Ive googled the patch to trick dolphin into thinking that the game is NTSC but i can't find it anywhere, Maybe I am just not googling the right thing. So its a patch that goes on the game not on the emulator?? Kinda confused but i hear it helps Smile

looking through some of the stuff on Google code and noticed something related to xenoblade poster sept 15 "1 1 # SX4J01 - Xenoblade
2 2 [Core] Values set here will override the main dolphin settings.
3 - SkipIdle = 0
4 3 BlockMerging = 1
5 - TLBHack = 1
4 + SkipIdle = 0
6 5 [EmuState] The Emulation State. 1 is worst, 5 is best, 0 is not set.
7 6 EmulationStateId = 4
8 - EmulationIssues = Disable idle skipping to solve sound issues or use LLE audio. Per pixel lighting creates a glitch in ether cave with direct 3d 9.
7 + EmulationIssues = Disable idle skipping to solve sound issues or use LLE audio. Per pixel lighting creates a glitch in ether cave with direct 3d 9. The game randomly freezes.
9 8 [OnFrame] Add memory patches to be applied every frame here.
10 9 [ActionReplay] Add action replay cheats here.
11 10 [Video]
...
20 19 DlistCachingEnable = False
21 20 [Video_Settings]
22 21 EnablePixelLighting = False
22 +

"
What does all this mean? Was a problem fixed? If so how do I fix it for myself?

I think someone changed the ini for the game that has the custom options, the ones you see when you right-click and select info on your iso. Those override the main settings.

The patch 3.1 works not more good with new builds, sound crackling comes back and the sound is distortion Sad
