To start: thanks a lot for this awesome addon. It's wonderful, and it works like a charm...almost ^_^

In fact, i am having a little problem with the IR pointer. While each and every button work, i cannot get the little "hand" (the pointer when you go to the home menu) to move no matter what config i choose (Normal, touch or acc.)

That is very strange. The buttons are working correctly, as well as the nunchuck roll and pitch. It's just the small white hand that would not move no matter how much i try.

Is there some kind of config i should make in the UDPwiimote or in the "wiimote" settings panel?

Let me know,
and thanks again!

To use the IR pointer you must have it enabled under Filters on the phone and under UDP Wiimote -> Configure in the plugin. Also you must not have button or joystick assigments for the IR pointer, and the mouse pointer must be offscreen. This is done not to interfere with normal mouse/joystick input. It only works when these are not used...

Hmmm...nope. I did as you said, but still no luck. I cleared all wiimote slots (now each button is blank), i succesfully connected the wiimote (still all buttons are responding, as well as the pitch and roll (the little hand turns up and down), but the ir pointer still isn't working. I put the mouse arrow on the upper right corner of the pc screen.

If you feel like you could take a closer look to the issue, i can post both the .plist file from the iphone and the config Wiimote file. Let me know if you feel like! Smile

That might be helpful... Although I really don't know why it wouldn't work...Undecided I mean just the IR pointer...

Here you are! Everything that seemed helpful in individuating the issue has been put on my virtual storage website, here:
http://ziotoo4.altervista.org/dapetcu/
!

As for the other answers: the iPod touch 2G is running 3.1.3 spirit JB, the PC is running windows 7 x64. I am using dolphin SVN 5989.
I am playing mario kart wii AND mario galaxy, and on both the buttons work, the accelerometer works, the IR doesn't.

Let me know if you can replicate the issue, or if you find any solution. Thanks a lot for your kindness ^_^

The settings look perfectly normal... Undecided
I can't try it right now... My phone won't arrive in 2 weeks....
For now I can only test it in Simulator on Mac OS X and it works perfectly...
Ill give it a Simulator try on Windows as soon as I get home to my other computer...
Did you do it on an ad-hoc network?
On what revision?
It seems very strange to me... Anyways... I made some modifications in 4.0 on how things work.... Maby I'll work better... For now, I have skin support and with all my (poor) GIMP skills I made 2 skins... Also I did some bugfixes... I am almost ready with it (I noticed a strange display bug in the IP/port boxes), but I would like to implement layout management... (rearranging, adding and removing, layouts in/from the tab-bar)... What do you say? release 4.0 as it is and plan this for 4.1 or wait a little longer and add layout management in 4.0?...

Bah...weird! ^_^
I did not do it on an ad hoc network; i will try, but that shouldn't be the problem (as the button presses are correctly transmitted). I am using rev 5989, will try another one.

As for 4.0...i think that the layout rearranging on the go is not a crucial feature. I tried some of these solution (above all, the Mungogamer wheel for iphone, that i use on mario kart) and they don't offer all the control you can have on PC.
BUT, there should be the possibility to change the layout on the PC, either via a companion software, or by simple text edit (like in GPSphone) of button locations/bounding boxes.
Simple skin changing is not really important, but button rearranging really is.

So, if by "skin support" you mean "you can already change image files and button layout on PC", yes release now.
but if you only mean "change images-button layout stays the same", then please take all the time you need implementing it and release later ^_^

BTW i made a Wii controller for GPS phone. If you need, i already have every wiimote button with transparency (alpha) ready in PS. Do you need it?
If yes, i will upload them as soon as you say so ^_^ to thank you for your kindness and ability!

By skin I meant images... Big Grin layout modifying will be a little trickier... I used NIBs until now for layouts, but I think I can do it all programatically Big Grin

Could you give me a link to the gpsphone wiimote controls please? I've been looking for it forever and this is the only hint of it. I signed up just to post this.

Hi worldofgoo! Unfortunately it's just a skin-you cannot actually interface a wiimote like you could, for example, do with nes ^_^
sorry!

Aw Sad well, thanks anyway, for replying! I think i have the wiimote skin already though.
I heard that zod IS going to work on them (wiimote controls), but it's not priority yet.
And darn. >Sad i thought i had finally found it. I guess i'll have to wait, like everyone else.

Hello! iController 4.0 is now out... It has skin and layout support... Skins and layouts can be customized by editing some plist files... You can check out the default ones for an example... You add aditional skins by simply adding a new skin folder to iController.app/Skins/ and additional layouts by adding a new layout folder to iController.app/Layouts/
Skin and layout ideas are welcomed... Will be added in 4.1 along with classic controller support...

EDIT: I'll post some instructions... finally
