That's not possible, right now there is no fix for either the grand star freeze or the music looping issue so it's just not possible that these wouldn't be an issue for you just as it's an issue the hundreds of other people using Dolphin.

Another thing, music doesn't last for the duration of the level, it usually stops after looping once or twice, well before the end of the level so I don't know how you tested or concluded this. The patch you linked to doesn't affect Mario Galaxy music in any way, not even close as the issue with Mario Galaxy is with the AFC decoder and that patch doesn't even come anywhere near close to the code used for the AFC decoder.

I did make a minor modification and posted a patch a while back that made the music last a lot longer but it is no longer working with the latest builds, now the music always stops after looping once or twice.

Have Bhaal and Torin already found anything that goes in the right direction or are they stuck?

I didnt really work on it since the pastie, and LordMark seemed to be kinda stuck aswell (at least he didnt answer my question about the buffer at #0x0458).
Dunno about Torin.

There's only this for right now, the code below is unfinished and doesn't work yet.

At least it's progress which could soon mean that the issue will be fixed, at least not that much longer.

@Jack Frost, any idea what ax1.h is yet or is that the buffer you are referring to?

Nope, unless I missed something (or a part where accumulator states are saved/restored), ax1.h should be a value retrieved from another buffer (which we also don't know yet in HLE).
Maybe someone else finds some clues during the weekdays, it's not like I enjoy coming home in the evening, just to get coding again Rolleyes

I noticed there hasn't been any work on the new AFC code in a while, did you hit a snag with the new code or have just been busy? It would be nice to see these looping issues fixed, but I can fully respect that coding isn't something that you want to do after working all day. Smile
